That’s the whole point. The filter takes the edge off the harsh stuff and lets speech and warnings through. They stay in, and you stay in the conversation.

There’s a little tab on the plug — that’s the whole trick. Hold it between thumb and finger with the tab pointing up, then give it a slight twist as you push it in. Leave the tab sticking up. Most people get a seal straight out of the box; if one feels loose or works its way out through the shift, swap to the other plug tip size.

Grab the tab and pull. That’s what it’s there for. Don’t dig around for the body of the plug — if the tab’s sitting up like it should be, they come straight out.

Two — Standard and Large. You get both in the box, so there’s no guessing your size before you order. Standard comes fitted and suits most ears; if it feels loose, swap the plug tips for the Large pair.

They sit low in the ear, so a hard hat’s fine and they go under muffs for the really brutal jobs. No pressure points.

As long as you look after them. They don’t wear out the way the plug tips do — keep them clean and dry and they’ll keep going.

Yep. The filter is the only thing that changes between the three levels, so you swap it into the same plugs. A pair is $14.95, which beats buying a whole new set.

Yep, just not inside the one pack — a Crew Pack or Site Pack is one level for the lot. Get the pack on the level most of the crew needs, and add a Single Pair for anyone on a different job.

Warm soapy water, rinse clear, and let them air-dry fully before they go away. No solvents, and don’t put them through the dishwasher.

The plug tips. They’re silicone, so after a few years of going in and out they can tear — nearly always at the tab. A replacement pair is $9.95, and you keep the filters and the capsule.
