A day at the track

Eight hours.
It doesn’t let up.

01

Nothing in

Fine for the first hour. By the afternoon you’re fried, and everyone in the car on the way home is shouting.

02

Foam plugs

They shut everything out, including the bloke you drove four hours with. Out they come, and they don’t go back in.

03

Big muffs

Work well enough. Also hot, bulky, sweaty in the sun, and another thing to carry when you’re walking the pits.

For the track

You want MAX.

Three levels, same plug. For engines all day it’s the red one.

MAX Red

“Maximum block while still hearing what matters around you.”

Up in the grandstand rather than the fence? MID takes less off and suits a spot further back.

Go to more than just the track? The Full Kit gets you all three levels for $49.95 — MAX for race day, MID for everything else.

Against a set of muffs

Same job.
Fits in ya pocket.

Muffs do the job, and they’re a pain to carry, hot in the sun and impossible to wear under a helmet. These sit low in the ear, live on your keyring, and you can still hear the person beside you.

  • ✓ Nothing on your head in forty degrees
  • ✓ Fine under a helmet or a cap
  • ✓ Clips to your keys, so they’re in the car already
  • ✓ Wash ’em and use them again next round

Quick answers

Before you ask.

Will I still hear the commentary?

Yeah. The filter takes the edge off the engines and lets speech through, so the PA and the person beside you still come in. Foam plugs shut the lot out, which is why they never stay in.

Can I wear them under a helmet?

They sit low in the ear, so a helmet or a cap goes straight over the top. No pressure points.

Will they last a whole day?

That’s what they’re built for. In before the first session and still in at the end — they’re comfortable enough that you forget they’re there.

Better than muffs?

Different. Muffs are bulky and hot, and they don’t go under a helmet. These fit in the capsule on your keys, so they’re already in the car.

What if I want less taken off?

Swap the filter. MID takes less down and suits the grandstand, and a spare pair of filters is $14.95 — no need for another set of plugs.
